I was recently reminded of the power of the written word when I had the honor of reading aloud a letter to someone.
This letter was just 8 lines. So much feeling, history, friendship, and love was packed into those words. It was personal. It was from the heart. In that moment of being the messenger, I was a witness to the strength and emotion of writing.
I use speech-to-text just as much as the next person. I dash off emails or FaceTime or forward cute things I find on Instagram.
But reading this letter reminded me that as an artist, I'm not just another pretty card. I'm creating a vessel for you to send a handwritten note. The art I create and the notecards and paper goods I produce give you a reason to write.
Choose a card with a design and color to match your mood, and then pen a few lines to someone in your life. It's rewarding. It's personal. It's meaningful.
Every day is a good day to send a card.
